The fourth decade of existence

For over thirty years, the Serbian Association of Agricultural Economists (SAAE) stands as a symbol of continuous dedication and engagement in the study and improvement of agricultural economics, as well as a commitment to knowledge exchange, research, and raising awareness on matters significant to the agricultural sector and rural development.

SAAE was established on April 17, 1992, and continued the activities of the members of the Yugoslavian Association of Agricultural Economists (YAAE 1977) in the Republic of Serbia. SAAE has gone through various phases of greater or lesser activity, with one of these phases being termed as the "period of exceptional productivity" (2007-2017).

From its founding until June 2023, the presidents of SAAE have been:

  • Prof. Dr. Vidan Ranđelović (1992 - 2001),
  • Prof. Dr. Desimir Obrenović (2001 - 2003),
  • Prof. Dr. Miladin M. Ševarlić (2003 – 2017),
  • Prof. Dr. Koviljko Lovre (2017-2023).
