SAAE President Prof. Dr. Tatjana Brankov gave a lecture at the "Ethno food and beverage" fair and visited the stand of the SEOCE.RS online local food market.
President of the Association of Agricultural Economists of Serbia (SAAE), prof. Dr. Tatjana Brankov, held a lecture "Buy local food and drinks, develop your community: Economic patriotism on the example of Kosmet" at the "Ethno Food and Drink" Fair on Friday, December 1, at 4:30 p.m.
During the lecture, Brankov also presented the project in the preparation phase "Treasures of Kosovo and Metohija: From the heart of Serbia to your table", whose goal is to create a brand of agricultural and food products called "Kosovo Peony". The implementation of this project would support, economically and morally, agricultural producers from Kosovo and Metohija, and consumers would be given the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the survival of Serbian families on their centuries-old hearths. Society as a whole would benefit from the preservation of indigenous varieties and breeds, as well as traditional methods of production.
DAES has the human resources necessary for the implementation of this project and expresses its willingness to visit agricultural farms in Kosovo and Metohija and identify their real needs. In accordance with that, and in order to improve agricultural production and competitiveness on the market, DAES would distribute financial resources obtained from donations, and in addition take responsibility for project monitoring and evaluation.
In the second part of her visit to the Fair, Brankov visited the stand of the online market for the delivery of fresh and homemade food from the villages of the Milan municipality - Seoce platform. There are currently 8 households on the Seoce platform, most of them from villages in the territory of the municipality of Gornji Milanovac - Koštunići, Pranjani, Druzetići, Srezojevci, Kalimanići. For now, delivery is made once a week in the territory of Belgrade. The Seoce include Suvobor Dairy, Ljilja Bralović, Eko Farma Moravka, Ana Nikodijević, Dejan Tolić, Nada Damljanović, Princess Ljubica's Estate and Milena Glišić.
